Bidad (Outcry) is a powerful Iranian drama directed by Soheil Beiraghi. The film follows Seti, a young woman with a deep passion for music and singing who dreams of sharing her voice with the world. However, restrictions on women performing publicly in Iran prevent her from pursuing her passion openly. Refusing to remain silent, Seti takes her music to the streets, turning public spaces into an unconventional stage.

As her performances attract increasing attention, Seti gradually becomes a symbol of courage and resistance for a younger generation searching for freedom and self-expression. Her growing popularity, however, places her and those around her under increasing pressure. Through Seti’s personal journey, the film explores themes of artistic freedom, social restrictions, identity, courage, and the power of speaking out.

Soheil Beiraghi presents a tense and intimate portrait of contemporary Iranian society, using music and performance as powerful forms of expression. Sarvin Zabetian delivers a central performance as Seti, supported by Amir Jadidi and Leili Rashidi. With its emotional storytelling and socially relevant themes, Bidad examines what happens when an individual refuses to allow fear and restrictions to silence her voice. The film received the Special Jury Prize at the 2025 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.
