Almas (فیلم الماس) is an Iranian film directed, written, and produced by Pouria Mojahidi. The story revolves around four people who are invited to a café and brought together for the purpose of participating in a major robbery. However, what initially appears to be a straightforward criminal plan soon takes an unexpected direction, revealing hidden motives and creating an atmosphere of mystery and uncertainty.
Rather than focusing solely on the robbery itself, Almas explores the deeper relationships and personalities of its characters. As the situation develops, the audience is encouraged to question who can be trusted and what each person is truly seeking. The film is described by its director as an independent, dialogue-driven work containing various symbols and metaphors, giving the story a mysterious and layered quality.
The cast includes Parviz Aghazadeh, Alireza Khademi Rouzbehani, Sadegh Samadi Yazdi, and Amirhossein Fahadan. An especially distinctive aspect of the production is its director, Pouria Mojahidi, who has spoken about creating the film despite being visually impaired, relying on his strong visual memory and years of studying Iranian, classical, and international cinema to develop the film’s visual concepts.
With its crime-based premise, suspenseful atmosphere, and symbolic storytelling, Almas presents a mysterious examination of ambition, trust, deception, and the unpredictable consequences of human decisions.
