Aqaye Zaloo (فیلم آقای زالو) is a 2026 Iranian film that combines dark comedy with social satire to explore ambition, morality, and survival in contemporary urban life. The story follows Parviz, a small-time opportunist whose nickname “Leech” reflects his habit of attaching himself to wealthier, more powerful people in order to get ahead. Living in a crowded Tehran neighborhood, Parviz constantly shifts allegiances, chasing quick success while avoiding responsibility.
When he stumbles upon a risky business opportunity involving forged documents and underground financial deals, Parviz believes he has finally found his path to prosperity. However, as he climbs higher, the consequences of his manipulative behavior begin to close in. Friends turn into rivals, trust erodes, and Parviz finds himself trapped in a web of deception that threatens to expose him.
The film uses sharp humor and exaggerated situations to critique social inequality and the pressures of modern Iranian society. Beneath its comedic surface, Mr. Leech offers a cautionary tale about identity, integrity, and the cost of opportunism. With vibrant performances and a fast-paced narrative, it presents a character study of a man who must ultimately confront the emptiness of a life built on taking from others.
